Ninja-Kicking Satan

My husband will sometimes travel for work, leaving me all alone in our house. I start to imagine bad guys breaking in and my awesome plans to defeat them with righteous ninja kicks and secret spy moves. But despite how prepared I may be for any and all intruders, my fear usually ends up getting the better of me.

Sometimes in life, especially when things aren’t going our way, Satan and his plans can seem bigger than God and His plans. Our focus drifts from hope and a future to despair in the present. Isaiah 46:9 says “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.”

What a refreshing reminder that there is no one like God. In the overwhelming moments of our lives when Satan seems bigger, remember God is biggest. God is omnipresent when Satan is confined (Jude 1:6). God is the creator while Lucifer is His creation. Satan is powerful, but God is almighty.

So use those righteous ninja kicks and secret spy moves on the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy. The moment you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are equipped to defeat. Your security in Jesus is much more real than any of Satan’s attempts.

  • What areas of your life do you feel Satan has hold of?
  • What can you be doing every day to remind yourself of “the former things,” that there is no one like God?
