Session 12
I will save you
From Promises: A 30-Day Devotional
If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- Romans 10:9-10
God promises that when we put our faith in Jesus, we will be saved. Salvation isn’t something we do, it’s something God does for us.
For many of us, the most difficult part of salvation is not believing that Jesus is who He says He is. It’s continuing to believe, through all our ups and downs, that God will make good on His promise — that we have been and are being saved.
Reflect:
- Who do you say that Jesus is? If you have asked Jesus into your life, what are some ways your life reflects that decision?
- If belief is what saves us, why do you think God also asks us to profess our faith (or say it out loud)?
- What is one step you can take today to trust God’s plan for your life?
