Rest in His Strength

A few months ago, my family and I lost our home to foreclosure. Receiving the notice that we had to move was a nightmare. Panic set in quickly. We begged God to stop the foreclosure process, but the move-out date was fast approaching. Many times I said, “God, I can’t do this.”

Paul was a mighty prayer warrior. He begged God to take away this “thorn in his flesh,” and received a clear answer: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9). You may be facing a trial in your life, and you may be saying to yourself, “I can’t do this.” Paul experienced God’s power most powerfully when he was at his lowest points. The same is true for us. When we feel weak and helpless, and we don’t know what to do, we take heart in knowing that God takes our losses and turns them into gains.

Three days before we had to move, we had nowhere to go. We were on the brink of being homeless. God directed us to a rental home that was a bigger blessing than what we prayed for. It was better than what we had. God is good, and He is always on time.
