The Truth Will Set You Free

Being lied to is not fun. Lying breaks trust and hurts relationships. Having a lie catch up to you after telling one is not fun, either. On the other hand, having or being someone trustworthy is a huge gift.

Why does God detest lies? He knows that deception always leads to destruction. Satan is the father of all lies and wants us to lie to each other because he knows it leads to hurt. The truth sets us free (John 8:24, John 8:32). Freedom is what God desires for us and gives us when we trust Him.

God is always trustworthy. He remains faithful even when we are not (2 Timothy 2:13).

We can trust God with our biggest secrets, our most embarrassing stories and our deepest fears. We can trust that what He says is true, and that He will never lie. We can trust that He always has our best interest at heart, and will never leave us.

We can trust that His love for us truly is unconditional, because He says it is.

  • Do you consider yourself trustworthy?
  • Has your trust ever been broken by a lie? What did you learn from that experience?
  • Is there any area of your life that you could trust God with more than you do now?
