True Or False

I can remember taking many college exams and wishing there were no true/false questions allowed. How was I expected to reflect on an entire semester’s worth of material by simply selecting one answer or the other?  With so much room for gray area my answers seemed to be true and false; I could justify them both. Confusion easily set in and doubt took hold of my confidence.

As Christians, it can be difficult to distinguish between true or false or yes or no. The world we live in today allows room for gray area, confusion and doubt. However, in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he assures us that all of God’s promises are true. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) states, “For all God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ (which means ‘yes’) ascends to God for his glory.” God’s promises allow no confusion and we need not doubt them, for all of His word is true. Our duty is to trust God and remember that His word will never come back void. Paul goes on to instruct the Corinthians to give God the glory and stand firm, for God has given us the Holy Spirit as an advance of our future kingdom in Heaven.

God’s word and His promises will always be true. Let us not become confused with what is right and wrong or what is true and false. Trust God for the correct guidance each day and for every decision.

  • Is there a decision you are facing today that seems gray?  If so, have you read God’s promises and trusted His insight?
  • Can you recall a time in your life when God fulfilled a promise?
