When The Faithless Are Made Faithful

In less than a month, I will be a married man. But before I met my fiancee, I had a number of bad relationships, including some that involved cheating.

Proverbs 5 warns against adultery, whether it’s cheating on a spouse or on the Lord.  Husbands and wives are called to be faithful to Jesus first, then each other. There’s good reason for this. As we become more faithful to Jesus, it is spiritually impossible to become less faithful to each other. When we follow Jesus’s example, we do what He does. And He is always faithful.

If your world is being rocked by marital unfaithfulness, remember that what Jesus creates, Jesus sustains. He created your marriage, and if the foundation of your marriage is in Him, on Him and for Him, then He will sustain it. 2 Timothy 2:13 says God is faithful even when we are faithless because He cannot deny Himself. That is a great God!

I love my fiancee, but I love Jesus even more because He is faithful to us even when we are faithless to Him. He is what makes us faithful to each other because we are faithful to Him first. He will never turn you away from His grace and His mercy because He cannot deny Himself. He is a faithful God.
