Children of God
Overview: Daniel 5-6, 1 John 3
Daniel and his friends are Hebrew exiles who live faithfully to the Lord in Babylon. The Babylonian king, Belshazzar, made a feast and defiled golden vessels from the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem. The mysterious writing on the wall warned that the true God rules over all people and will not be mocked. When the Lord delivers Daniel from the lions’ den, King Darius respects the God of Daniel.
John teaches that as God’s children, we act like Him, and not like the world. We overcome sin, evil, and lawlessness by loving one another and listening to "the Spirit whom he has given us" (1 John 3:24).
