The Righteous Live by Faith

Overview: Psalms 79-81, Romans 1

In Psalm 79-80, the psalmist expresses grief over the destruction of Israel. He cries out to God for restoration and deliverance. In Psalm 81, he praises God for His deliverance and God’s plea with the people of Israel to follow Him. 

In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he writes to the Christian churches in Rome. The theme of Romans is that God judges sin and shows His saving mercy in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is the revelation of the righteousness of God and "the righteous shall live by faith." (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17)
