Faithfulness Through Trials

Overview: Job 1-3, Acts 4:1-22

The book of Job explores the question of trust in a sovereign God. Satan claims Job serves God because He has blessed him. Satan afflicts Job’s family, wealth, and health with suffering. Job remains faithful to God, even as he opens with a lament.

The religious leaders have Peter and John arrested because of their teaching. In their trial before the Sanhedrin, Peter and John bear witness to the power of the name of Jesus to save.

Job, Peter, and John face terrible circumstances, yet remain faithful to God. Can we hold onto that same truth in our circumstances today?
