2 Chronicles 35-36, John 17

Jesus Prayed for You

Overview: 2 Chronicles 35-36, John 17

Josiah’s descendants return to the faithlessness of previous generations. Judah faces exile as the consequence of their sin. Yet, Chronicles ends with hope as a pagan king is stirred up to rebuild the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.

Jesus prays for His disciples before His death. He prays for their unity, for God’s protection from evil, and for God to set them apart. Jesus also prays for believers who will come after the disciples.

The Bible says in Romans 8:34 Jesus “is interceding for us.” How should knowing this change the way we live our daily lives?
