Praying for Hearts to Follow God

Overview: Isaiah 63-64, Colossians 1

The Lord promises to judge those who oppose Him (Isaiah 63:1-6). Isaiah recounts God’s works on behalf of His stubborn people and asks God to intervene and help them (Isaiah 63:7–64:12).

Paul begins his letter to the church at Colossae to show that Jesus is Lord over all creation, visible and invisible. Paul prays the Colossian believers would live unto God (Colossians 1:9-14). He wants them to bear fruit, know God more, be strong and patient, and give thanks for their salvation. He describes Jesus as God’s exalted Son, supreme over all creation (Colossians 1:15-20).

God has given Jesus all authority in this world. How does that truth encourage you to pray for a heart that follows Him?
