A New Thing, Springing Forth

Overview: Isaiah 43-44, Ephesians 1

Isaiah speaks comfort over the exiles, promising that the glory of the Lord will be revealed to the world. God reclaims His people, reminding them that He is their provider, protector, and savior. He promises to revive His people by pouring out His life-giving Spirit on them.

"Behold, I am doing a new thing;
    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
    and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19

The book of Ephesians is a letter written by Paul to the church at Ephesus while he was in jail. The main theme of this letter is that Christ has united all nations to Himself and to one another.

Paul begins by showing that Jesus has reconciled all creation and has united the church in Himself. He offers a prayer of thanksgiving, asking that the church will gain insight into the Lord’s richness and power in Christ.
