What is The Weekend?

The Weekend is NewSpring’s student summer camp experience for rising sixth graders through graduating seniors. We want students to have a fun time together where they can build meaningful relationships, compete against each other in games and challenges, and learn more about Jesus and His Church.

Parents, check out our FAQ to find out what your student will experience at The Weekend.

Your giving makes a difference!

NewSpring values the next generation, and our no ordinary family is full of generous people who want to go above and beyond for students. When you give to The Weekend Fund, you enable us to help students encounter God at The Weekend.

Come serve with us!

The best volunteers for The Weekend are mature Christians, like the ones Paul describes in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. You’ll want to have a genuine desire to invest in students — because you’ll spend all your time with students.

We look for someone who isn’t easily flustered, someone who will communicate well with students’ parents, someone who will be flexible when plans change, and decisive when students are at a stalemate.

It’s a big deal for parents to trust us with their kids. Great leaders don’t take that responsibility lightly, and they work hard to make sure students have fun and stay safe.

Tickets are $25 and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Where is The Weekend?

The Weekend will be hosted at all 14 NewSpring locations in South Carolina.

If I just graduated high school, can I still come to The Weekend?

Yes! Students who just graduated high school in May can attend The Weekend as seniors.

If I’m starting middle school in the fall, can I come to The Weekend?

Yes! Students who start middle school in the fall can attend The Weekend as sixth graders.

What should students expect at The Weekend?

You’ll start the day with Jesus, spending time learning about Him from the Bible and talking to Him in prayer. You will do this at your host home and with your Fuse Group. Then, we’ll travel to our local campus for morning sessions and worship.

By this point, you’ll be hungry. Lunch will be provided at your campus and will be different every day, but it’s always delicious. After you eat, you’ll have free time — your group will do something fun together. Or, you will have serving opportunities to serve in your communities with your group and campus.

Each night, we’ll come together for dinner and evening fun, worship and life changing discussions. Then, it’s back to host homes for small group time. And maybe a little sleep. (Maybe.)

Are there refunds?

No. After signing up for The Weekend, your ticket and money are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What about financial assistance?

If you or someone you know cannot go to The Weekend because of ticket costs, email events@newspring.cc to connect with someone from your campus.

Will there be security?

Yes, we will utilize our Safety volunteers and law enforcement at each campus to ensure a safe environment for students while on our property. These volunteers will also be available to assist as needed throughout The Weekend as your students move from place to place.

As a parent, where can I find out more details about The Weekend?

Closer to The Weekend, we’ll host parent meetings with our host homes for every campus to answer all of your questions. In the meantime, email us at events@newspring.cc, and we’re happy to help.

How do I serve as a leader?

You can apply to serve at The Weekend now! This application will tell us everything we need to know in order to help you take your next steps as a potential volunteer at The Weekend. After you apply, you’ll hear from someone at your campus within two weeks!

What about students with special needs?

Every student matters to us and deserves to hear about Jesus on their level. NewSpring’s special needs ministry provides options for students with a wide-range of physical and cognitive needs.

At The Weekend, students with special needs are paired with a volunteer who meets them where they’re at and helps them understand the good news that Jesus loves them. Let us know about your child’s needs when buying your ticket, and we’ll work with you to give your student the best weekend ever.

Have any additional questions or concerns about sending your student to The Weekend? We do whatever we can to help everyone who wants to go to The Weekend get to The Weekend.

Whatever the barrier, we’d love to talk about it and see if we can help. For any questions, please email events@newspring.cc.
