NewSpring Northeast Columbia adopts Radiant Life Church
The Northeast Columbia Campus is growing! At the end of June, Radiant Life Church, a longtime partner of NewSpring Northeast Columbia, voted 58-2 to join our no ordinary family.
Over the past four years, Radiant Life has become like family to NewSpring Northeast Columbia. And through this adoption, they officially will be!
So How Did We Get Here?
NewSpring believes in having a kingdom mentality. That means working with other churches to build God’s kingdom, not our own. While seeking partnerships with other churches, Campus Pastor Robbie Green met Pastor Bob Moore and Radiant Life Church.
Radiant Life is a multi-ethnic, contemporary Baptist church that has been faithfully serving northeast Columbia for 30 years. They started meeting in a strip mall as Pontiac First Baptist Church and moved into their current location in Elgin in the 1990s.

Over the past four years, Radiant Life has partnered with the Northeast Columbia Campus during prayer week, served with us on #ForSC Day, and hosted many group meetings. NewSpring has been able to provide Radiant Life with free KidSpring curriculum and supported them financially through last year’s Overflow Offering.
For Radiant Life, the adoption is an opportunity to honor the church's legacy and ensure the property will be a thriving Christian church for years to come. For NewSpring, the adoption means coming together as one family and moving into a permanent home.
What’s Next for Radiant Life and NewSpring?
Radiant Life’s building will become NewSpring Northeast Columbia. Middle school students will start having Fuse there in September. Later this fall, the Northeast Columbia Campus will stop meeting at Spring Valley High School, and the two congregations will gather as one family at 1010 Old Two Notch Road in Elgin
But before that happens, there are lots of details to work out. Over the next few months, while legal documents are being signed and finalized, the staff, volunteers, and members of both congregations will discuss how to bring the two church families together.
Pastor Bob will join the Northeast Columbia Campus staff. Radiant Life’s children’s ministry and student ministry will become part of KidSpring and Fuse. And, Sunday serving teams will come together as one.
We’ll update this link over the next few months so you can stay in the know about all the changes — from construction updates to big events.
