A Prayer for Unity
The Church in America has a profound opportunity to reflect the kingdom of heaven on Earth, as envisioned in Revelation 7:9, where a multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language stands before the throne of God. This vision becomes more tangible in light of the emancipation celebrated on Juneteenth, reminding us that the gospel is about freeing every individual from the chains of sin and oppression, allowing us all to live freely, regardless of ethnicity. As you walk through this week, consider praying this prayer for unity. “Lord, I agree with Your Word in Psalm 133: ‘Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!’ I thank You that in You alone, there is rich unity through the Holy Spirit. Thank You for unifying people of every nation, tribe, and tongue for Your kingdom. Help me to have a heart that pursues uncommon unity in my day-to-day life. Amen.”
