What does community look like?

"In January 2008, I did one of the best things I’ve ever done when I joined my home group. I was a little hesitant about joining because I was unsure about committing my time to a group, but I am thankful that I did. These women became more than friends; they became family. When our leader stepped down many years ago, I knew God was telling me to take her place, and that has become my joy. Over the years, we have supported one another through breakups, moves, divorce, being widowed, illness, deaths, and suicide, as well as joyful laughter together, all while growing in our faith and our God. I couldn’t have made it through my husband’s passing without their loving support. It’s how a big church becomes a close family.
