Alton Cale’s Story

Alton Cale was 13 when heard a fire and brimstone message. Scared by the idea of hell, he prayed a prayer to get into heaven—but God was never in the picture. When he met his wife she was a pastor’s daughter. Alton started to clean up his act, so her family would accept him. After they married, they attended a Bible school for 2 years. But, for Alton this was just another way to prove his spiritually to everyone around him. Alton and his wife began to attend NewSpring because of all the good things they heard about what Jesus was doing. He became a volunteer and gave godly counsel but never followed it himself. When the invitation was presented every Sunday, only pride kept him from asking Jesus into his life. He wondered what others would think or say about him. Finally, one Sunday he gave his life to Jesus. Now, instead of believing in his own good works he can depend on the work Jesus did on the cross. Having an authentic relationship with Jesus has given him peace in life and a place in heaven.
