Carly Schneider always struggled with feeling unloved.
After leaving an emotionally abusive relationship her senior year at Clemson University, she felt more alone and undervalued than ever.
I didn’t think church was going to be the answer
One day, a billboard for NewSpring Church caught her eye, and she decided to attend.
“I didn’t think church was going to be the answer, but I was willing to give it a try,” she says.
Growing up, church had never been a big part of her life; it was always more social than spiritual. But the music, people, and preaching at NewSpring kept her coming back each week.
One Sunday, Carly remembers Pastor Perry saying in a message, “You’re the daughter of a King."
"That’s when something started to stir in my heart," Carly says, "and I began to feel this love from God that I’d never really felt before.”
During a Christmas service in 2008, Carly put her pride and fear aside and gave her life to Jesus.
“I was able to realize that that relationship with Jesus is what I needed to feel complete,” she says.
