When I Tasted Hope, I Stopped Swallowing Pills
Mary Boyd’s Story
Watch Video
The pills were supposed to ease the pain of a major surgery. But, it took years for Mary Boyd to discover that she was really trying to escape the pain in her heart. Her addiction to anti-anxiety medication led to divorce, to the streets, to rehab, and to near death in a vehicle wreck—all the while, her son and daughter were swept up in the chaos.
Everything changed when a friend invited her to NewSpring Church. She never felt judged and after attending for a few months she felt like their was hope for her life. During a Christmas service in 2012 she realized only Jesus could save her, so she gave her life to Him. Jesus took away the cravings, and with the help of her community at NewSpring she has been sober now for 2 years. Jesus has given her peace and healed her hurt relationship with her children.
