We say we love a lot of different things. We love food, friends and family, and our crush. To most of us love is a feeling, but what does it look like to show love?

John, one of Jesus’ disciples, wrote 1 John to early church leaders around Ephesus to teach them how to love like Jesus loves — wholeheartedly, sacrificially, and genuinely.  

Knowing Jesus changes how we love and who we love. When we have Jesus’ love in us, we can love others the way He does. This isn’t always easy. It can be hard to love people who are unkind or don’t love us in return. But that’s what He did for us, and it’s the kind of love John calls us to show to others.
