Session 29
Don’t stop chasing your dreams
From Genesis: A 7-Week Devotional
You had a vision to start a new business. You felt you should go back to school to further your education. You dreamed of starting a church. Whatever you wanted to accomplish, you didn’t seem to get much support when you told people about your endeavor.
In Genesis 37, Joseph runs into the same problem. Joseph has two dreams, and he is so excited about them he tells his whole family. But he doesn’t receive the reaction that he was hoping for. His brothers envy him because of the dreams Joseph shared. But, Genesis 37:11 tells us that “his father kept the matter in mind.”
God has plans to prosper you.
You may have had a great vision, like Joseph, but it was not well-received when you shared it with others. People may have said you were crazy, but your Heavenly Father has not forgotten about you. God has plans to prosper you. He has plans of a great future and hope. He has an amazing purpose for you. And He will be faithful to bring it to pass. Everyone else may turn their backs on you, but your Father will keep you in mind.
Reflect:
- Do you have a dream that you haven't started because others have not supported it?
- Have you taken your dream to God and asked Him if it is in line with His best plan and purpose for your life?
- What is one step you can take today to begin living out your dream?
