Session 3
A Weary World Rejoices
From Join the Chorus!
"Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28
Let’s be real — the world is tired. We’re all juggling endless to-do lists, family gatherings, and the pressures of daily life. How often is “busy” our automatic response when someone asks how we’re doing? Christmas holds a powerful reminder in all the hustle and bustle: Jesus came to offer rest for weary souls.
Jesus doesn’t expect us to keep carrying everything on our own — He came close to us so that we would come close to him, hand over our worries, and let His gentle strength carry us through. He invites anyone feeling worn out to find rest in Him. His presence brings a deep, renewing peace.
This Christmas, remember that Jesus’s invitation to rest is for us today. Let’s celebrate the gift of God’s presence, share his peace with others, and remember that hope entered our world on that holy night. With open hearts, let’s join with the saints and sing, “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices” because we have a Savior who understands our weariness and promises us real rest.
