Session 22
Sing The Song of Salvation
From Join the Chorus!
“Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!”- Psalm 98:1
At Christmas time, old stories and songs fill the air. Occasionally, a new song or story will break through to join the traditional list that endures from year to year. Songs and stories that were once new, like the story of a New York-bound elf named Buddy or “All I Want For Christmas” by Mariah Carey, are now part of our holiday tradition.
Consider the Bible story we know all too well. Though God created the world to be good and full of purpose, humanity fell, and sin entered the world. God saw that we were stuck in our sin and shame, guilty of taking matters into our own hands. In response, God sent His only Son into the world to live a perfect, sinless life, and to die in our place, defeating sin and death once and for all. Those who trust in Jesus, walk in freedom now and forever. What a story! Oh, What a Savior!
With each passing year, new stories of salvation join the ancient story. God has seen fit to bring us into His story. What fresh, new story is waiting to be told? What has the Savior done for you? Add your unique song and join the chorus of saints across history giving King Jesus the glory due his name. Tell a friend or family member the story of God’s love to you, today!
I love to tell the story;
’twill be my theme in glory
to tell the old, old story
of Jesus and his love.
