Session 3

What happens when we realize the power in each of us

From Gauntlet: An 8-Day Prayer Guide

It’s the first full day in Daytona: two incredible speakers, great worship, and some quality beach time.

Today also is the first day of community groups, which are just what they sound like: Students break into small groups so they can meet new people and build community.

As fun as these things are, they are not the main event. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says He is present wherever His people gather in groups. The star of the show this week is Jesus. His Spirit and His presence are with all believers, wherever they are.

Jesus presence isn’t limited by state lines. In each session, each conversation, and each prayer, Jesus is there. The students and volunteers in Daytona aren’t just talking about Jesus, they are experiencing His presence all around them — from the pool to the hotel room to the arena where they meet.

Not only is Jesus with them in the teaching sessions and at Gauntlet events, but He’s also with them in the airbrush shop, the Starbucks line, and the souvenir shop. Imagine the impact 5,000 people could make on a city if they understood the power of Jesus is with them wherever they go?

We are praying for a spiritual awakening in our students and all of those who will interact with our church this week. May every word spoken this week, whether on the stage or on the street, “fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel” (Ephesians 6:19).

How to Pray Today:

  • Pray for our speakers to preach with boldness and for the Gospel to spread quickly.
  • Pray for leaders and students to experience the power of God's presence and for that to overshadow anything that comes their way this week.
  • Pray for the people of Daytona to see Jesus’ presence in our leaders and students and for our church’s visit to make an eternal impact on their city.
