Session 28
I will answer you
From Promises: A 30-Day Devotional
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
- Matthew 7:7-8
If God is a loving Father with the ability to give His children incredible things, why doesn’t He, at once, place all things at our fingertips? In this promise, Jesus promises that we will find what we’re looking for if we’ll submit to the process of asking, seeking, and knocking.
In the course of asking and receiving, seeking and finding, knocking and opening, God helps us comprehend the depths of His Fatherly love and giving nature. We can’t be entitled or ignorant of His blessings. We are now fully aware of our need as children and His provision as a good, good Father.
Reflect:
- Why don’t we ask our Father for more?
- Besides material possessions, what are you asking God for?
- What are you taking for granted now that you were once grateful for?
