I will give you strength

From Promises: A 30-Day Devotional

“He gives strength to the weary 
   and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:29-31). 

When we’re exhausted, when it feels like we’re never going to get it right, God tells us to come to Him. Our human strength is limited, but God’s power is limitless. When we are operating in our own strength, we will always burn out. But God promises that when we slow down, trust Him, and move at His speed, we will never grow weary.

• Are you tired today? Where do you need God to renew your strength?
• Where is your hope? What or who do you look to for security, comfort, or strength?
• What step could you take today to begin living like this promise is true?
