Missing the love of my father

Charlene Patterson searched for satisfaction in relationships because she could not satisfy her need for a father’s love.

Charlene's only-child and daddy's-girl life was shattered at age eight.

As new siblings began to vie for her parents' attention, Charlene's relationship with her father distanced, and she started searching for something that would fill her loneliness.

In college, Charlene was trapped in a cycle of promiscuity. She wanted to feel cherished the way she remembered feeling in her relationship with her father. 

After taking a job as a music teacher at Carolina High School in Greenville, she was invited to NewSpring Church by a co-worker who prayed for her and encouraged her. Over time, Charlene realized what she was missing was the love of her heavenly Father.
