Session 17
Dear God, save people in this place
From Amen: A 27-Day Prayer Guide
God sent His one and only Son into the world to save us from sin and death. And get this: God wants your friends and family members to be saved just as much as you do!
God’s desire is that none of us would know death, but He does not force His grace on us.
One day, Jesus will return to set things right and hold us accountable for what we believe about Him. Some days, it seems like Jesus is slow in keeping that promise. But what we see as slowness is really God's patience. He wants as many people as possible to know Him as their heavenly Father.
Praying for salvation in our church, our schools, our workplaces, and our homes is a way to align our hearts with God’s. We can’t make people respond to the Gospel, but we can invite them to hear it, serve them so they can see it, and pray for them to receive it.
Celebrate
- When was the last time you thanked God for your salvation? Let God know how thankful you are for Jesus and for your relationship with Him.
- What does the way God pursued you tell you about His character? Tell God what you’ve grown to appreciate about who He is and how He loves you.
Anticipate
- What are your dreams for the people you want to see meet Jesus? Let God know that you trust Him with their salvation.
Ask
- Do you need more faith to believe God will save those you are praying for? Do you need the courage to invite someone to church? Ask God to provide what you need to help bring others to a place where they can hear about Him.
