Session 1
Be Thankful and Ask
From Presence: With Us. In Us. Through Us.
Read: Psalm 100
We have so much to be thankful for. Everything we have is a good gift from God (James 1:17). God has ultimately proven His love for us by sending Jesus to us, and if we never received another blessing from Him, that in itself should be enough to be thankful for. We really are too blessed to be stressed.
When we acknowledge that all of our gifts are from God, God delights in our praises. God loves our praises, and He loves to give us what we need. If we want something we should ask God. Whatever we want, we may not have it because we’ve never asked Him for it (James 4:3).
There is nothing wrong with asking God for something we want. It’s an important part of our relationship with Him. Our quiet times should include loud praises and big requests as we enter into His presence.
This week come before God and thank Him for something He has given you or blessed you with, and then ask God to specifically provide for you again in some way. Be thankful and ask as you sit in His presence.
